What is the "slender man"?

when i was in the mental hospital being treated for seeing and hearing things that werent there, i told the doctor about this guy i was seeing, tall guy with a suit with long arms. the doctor said something about the "slender man" but never really got into detail except it was something like a ghost story :| anyone have some info, i cant really find any
